Three GNL members were among those selected to join the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s board of directors during the organization’s annual meeting on January 20. They are Judy Hushon, Class IX, Loralee LeBoeuf, Class XVIII and Robert Saltarelli, Class XIV. They join current board members Nancy White, Class X, and Van Williams, Class XV. The Conservancy has been active since 1964 when plans were revealed to build a road through Rookery Bay, crossing Gordon Pass and into the Ten Thousand Islands. As a result of the grassroot efforts of a few citizens, the road was never built. Rookery Bay and its inhabitants were saved and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida was founded.
