Prof. Dr. Bernard Finel Associate Dean for Academics National War College

Power is shifting on the international stage.  The uprising of China and Russia have brought the United States into a direct power struggle with these nations after a long period of unchallenged world dominance.  What are the challenges and changes that we are seeing throughout the world in the areas of the global economy, cyber security, climate issues, and de-consolidating democracies?  Who are the players?  Is power defined, beyond money and military might?  Do natural resources, technology, education, and/or culture count?  Dr. Finel, an accomplished researcher and expert, will address these questions and explain how power shifts are threatening the very fabric of our culture and what the future could bring for all of us.

Join us to hear Professor Dr. Bernard Finel, Associate Dean for Academics at the National War College, on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Trinity by the Cove Episcopal Church, 663 Galleon Drive, Naples, FL 34102.  The Church hall is across the street from the church.  The presentation begins at 4:00 p.m.; doors open at 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow the presentation.  GNL alumni, guests and members of Class XXIII are invited to attend.
