Landscape Materials supplied by Naples Botanical Garden Gardening Assistance provided by Brian Galligan, Director of Horticulture and his assistant , Lauro Pacheco.
On Friday, January 8th at Golden Gate Senior Center at 4898 Coronado Parkway our mission was to clean up and add color to the landscape at the entry to the center. We truly got our project ‘Done in a Day’! Actually done in a morning is a better account. Thanks to the invaluable help and support of the Naples Botanical Garden both for the materials needed and also for the fantastic assistance with the removal of the tired vegetation and the planting of all the beautiful bromeliads. NBG also donated many bags of mulch that we put down to finish the job. What formerly was a very boring and uninspired entry for the many clients of the senior center was transformed into a colorful and welcoming entrance.
The Golden Gate Senior Center has 335 registered members. There are 773 Collier County Lunch Program recipients and they provide food for 509 people from the Meals of Hope Pantry.
