Local nonprofit and civic organizations seeking volunteers may do so by completing the Volunteer Request Form located in the lower right corner of our home page. When an organization submits a request, the information is immediately posted on that page so that GNL members and other interested visitors can learn more about the opportunity, including the organization’s name, its focus, the position available and the month the request was received. Requests are posted for 120 days unless GNL is notified the position has been filled or if the request is renewed. To learn more, you may:
- View a current list of organizations requesting help and click on the organization’s name to view the request submitted;
- Tailor the search to your area of interest by picking the key word in an organization’s name (e.g., Audubon for Audubon Society), the area of focus (e.g., education, healthcare, etc.), the type of position or the month that the request was submitted;
- Visit the organization’s website and/or contact the individual shown on its request;
- Contact a GNL alumna/alumnus serving on the requesting organization’s board. Members may do so by logging on and searching the list of “Members Serving on Local Boards” which is located on the Members’ page.
